Sacha Maes and
Aarush Ganji won a consolation match in the Division III doubles tournament on Saturday.
The Jumbo duo defeated Connor Whittington and Jared Perry from Trinity University (Texas) 6-4, 6-4 in consolation play. That gave Maes and Ganji a 2-1 record for the weekend at the national tournament.
The Tufts duo had won its opening round of 16 match on Thursday over Matthew Michibata and Harrison Maitland-Carter from The College of New Jersey by 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 scores. The Jumbo pair then fell 6-4, 6-2 against Quinn Wicklund and Jordan Theron from the University of the South in the quarterfinals on Friday at the Rome Tennis Center.
Maes and Ganji qualified for the ITA Cup, which is the fall national championships for college tennis, by finishing as the runner-up at the ITA New England championships on October 1.
