WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (February 11, 2023) -- The No. 11 Tufts University women's squash team started their New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tournament on Saturday morning with a convincing 9-0 victory over No. 20 Colby College.
The Jumbos won all nine spots in the match by straight sets on Saturday. First-year No. 1
Vharsha Dinesh won the first game before needing extra points in the second game before closing out Aileen Dominguez with scores of 11-6, 12-10, and 11-9. At No. 2,
Riddhi Joshi won her 10
th match on the season as she defeated Celine Odegard by scores of 11-1, 11-3, and 11-3.
In the No. 3 spot,
Caroline Chin also earned her 10
th win in 2022-23 with a 11-2, 11-3 and 11-3 win over Clara Lehv. Sophomore Aleezah Burham was in the No. 4 spot and she needed just three games to reach an impressive 11-4 record on the season by defeating Amanda Miller 11-3, 11-4, and 11-5.

Nieve Monderer got her first win of the season in the No. 5 spot with a nice 11-8, 11-3 and 11-3 win over India Spencer, while No. 6 Sanja Vissapragada won her team leading 12
th match, knocking off Mehak Dey-Kohli 11-3, 11-3, and 11-1.
Isabella Schneider got back in the win column with an 11-7, 11-2, 11-2 win at No. 7, while
Ellyn Xu now has 11 wins this season after an 11-1, 11-5 and 11-2 win over MacKenzie O'Shea. At No. 9
Ami Sao needed just 15 minutes to earn an 11-4, 11-7, and 11-3 victory over Greta Drefke to improve to 10-4 and become Tufts' sixth player with 10 or more wins this season.
The Jumbos will return tomorrow in more NESCAC Tournament action as they will take on No. 16 Middlebury Panthers at 9 A.M. on courts 1-6. If the Jumbos were to advance, they would compete in the championship game later that afternoon at 3:30 P.M. and would face the winner of Trinity vs Amherst.
