MEDFORD, MA (March 20, 2023) -- Senior attack
Jack Boyden helped the No. 2 Tufts University men's lacrosse team to two more wins last week, both over ranked opposition, as he was honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week for the second straight week.
The Jumbos (5-0) have now picked up four of the last five awards handed out by the NESCAC dating back to last season, as Monday's honor for Boyden was his third career weekly accolade from the conference.
Boyden had another record setting week for the Jumbos, as Tufts posted a pair of ranked wins over No. 7 Lynchburg and No. 17 Stevens. Tuesday against Lynchburg, he finished with a game-high four assists in a 19-4 win, and then followed that up with 13 points and 10 assists in a 21-7 win over Stevens.
The 13 points tied a school record, while the 10 helpers also tied a record that had been all alone since 1957 at Tufts. For the week, he finished with three goals and 14 helpers. Boyden now sits with 48 points through five games, which is ranked No. 2 in the nation.
The Jumbos are back in action on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., taking on the Cavaliers of Cabrini University in Radnor, PA.
