MEDFORD, MA (July 8, 2027) - Tufts University's
Garrett Kelly and
Jack Regnery have been selected to the 2025-26 Academic All-America® men's at-large team announced today by College Sports Communicators. Regnery is on the second team, and Kelly received a third-team award.
This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements. To be nominated, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their institution. A limit of six nominations per school is set. For lacrosse, nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the team's total games played or have started 66 percent of the team's total games.
For the Academic All-America® men's at-large teams, student-athletes from the following sports are eligible - Men's Fencing, Men's Golf, Men's Gymnastics, Men's Ice Hockey, Men's Lacrosse, Men's Rifle, Men's Skiing, Men's Volleyball, Men's Water Polo and Men's Wrestling.
Regnery and Kelly were offensive leaders on the Tufts men's lacrosse team that won its third straight NCAA Championship in the spring, as well as winning the program's 14th New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) title. Regnery was the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Iroquois National Outstanding Player of the Year and the Lt. Col. JI Turnbull Outstanding Attackman this season, scoring 74 goals with 48 assists for 122 points in 23 games. Kelly was a USILA first team All-American after scoring 48 goals for the Jumbos, including a team-high 11 on man-up situations, and 13 assists for 61 points.
Both are 2026 Tufts University graduates - Regnery in economics (3.56 GPA) and Kelly also with an economics degree (3.55).
With these two honorees, Tufts University Athletics now has 18 Academic All-America® recipients for the 2025-26 academic year which is the most in school history.
