MEDFORD, MA (May 2, 2023) - The United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) today announced the finalists for its 2022-23 season national awards and Tufts University's David Sach is up for Women's Team Division III Coach of the Year.
The finalists were selected from member nominations of athletes and coaches from across NCAA divisions. Award winners will be selected by a vote of USFCA collegiate member coaches and announced during the week of May 8.
One of four candidates for the DIII women's coach of the year honor, Sach is joined by Rob Charlton of Wellesley College, Peter Grandbois of Denison University and Elif Soyer Sachs of Brandeis University.
Coach Sach guided Tufts through a historic season for the team. The Jumbos won a share of the Northeast Fencing Conference title and sent an individual (first-year

Five Tufts University fencers were announced as 2023 USFCA Division III All-Americans, including three members of Sach's most recent class of recruits. First-years
Karen Bei in epee and
Alexia Newell in sabre were both named first team All-Americans. First-year
Daniella Davia and junior
Sydnee Lau from the Tufts foil squad were both second-team All-America honorees. Senior sabre fencer
