MIDDLETOWN, CT (September 24, 2023) -- An amazing week of tennis for the Jumbos women's tennis squad came to an end on Sunday morning at the 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regional, as sophomore
Stephanie Woodbury and first-year
Natalie Hu were dropped in the doubles semifinals on the campus of Wesleyan University.
Hu and Woodbury were taking on top seed Olivia Soffer and Matia Cristiani of Babson College, and the eventual regional champions knocked off the Jumbo pairing 8-3 in the semifinals. In the finals, Soffer and Cristiani rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Delman and Raman of Middlebury College.
Cristiani also was the singles champion, as she earned a 6-0, 6-3 win over Sarah Youngberg of Wesleyan.
The Jumbos will head to the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament at Smith College October 6-8.
