Womens Squash Blanks F&M Saturday Afternoon

MEDFORD, MA (January 13, 2024) The No. 12 Tufts Womens squash team battled No. 23 Franklin and Marshall Saturday afternoon blanking them 9-0 showing great depth for the Jumbos.

The Jumbos (7-3) got things going with a win from No.1 sophomore Vharsha Dinesh, who defeated Gurlin Kaur in four games 11-9, 12-14, 11-1, 11-7 capturing her fifth win of the year. The Jumbos kept rolling getting wins from No. 2 Junior Riddhi Joshi who defeated Aryaa Ogale 11-5, 11-0, 11-8, No. 3 senior Caroline Chin at the third position defeated Cate Costin 11-6, 11-9, 11-2, No. 4 junior Aleezah Burhan rolled past Zarine Gidwaney 11-5, 11-6, 11-1 and No. 5 junior Nieve Monderer won in three games over Mia Todd 11-5, 11-6, 11-1.

At No. 6 and 7  the Jumbos got wins from senior Sanjana Vissapragada who defeated Tatum Long 11-2, 11-6, 11-3 to tally her co-leading seventh win along side senior Ellyn Xu who took care of business knocking off Iman Jaikishan 11-2, 11-2, 11-2

In the last two matches senior Kate Chang defeated Joey Ho 11-3, 11-2, 11-2 capturing her third win on the season. Sophomore Mafi Point at the No. 9 spot ended the perfect day for the Jumbos by defeating Destiny Ponce 11-0, 11-1, 11-3 for her third win on the season.

The Womens Squash team will travel to Dartmouth tomorrow January 14. The Match will start at 3PM.
