Hanover, NH (January 14, 2024) The No. 12 Tufts University Womens squash team earned a win from junior
Aleezah Burhan at the No. 5 spot. The win for Burhan wasn't enough as the Jumbos fell to Dartmouth 8-1.
Tufts (7-4) stayed competitive the whole night despite the 8-1 result. The only victory came at the No. 5 spot, Burhan defeated Ellie Berke in five games 12-10, 2-11, 11-7, 5-11, 12-10 posting her sixth victory on the season. The Jumbos started the night at the No. 1 spot with Sophomore
Vharsha Dinesh taking M.C.R. Velasquez of Dartmouth to five games, but came up short 11-6, 6-11, 6-11, 11-4, 11-6.
At the No. 3 spot Freshman
Maria Arsenieva took the second and third set against Chelsea Cho but fell short in five games 11-7, 8-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-9. The No. 4 spot saw senior
Caroline Chin take the third set but eventually ended up falling 11-4, 11-4, 2-11, 11-8.
After Burhans win, Dartmouth would end the final four matches with No. 6 and No. 8 being straight game wins, to earn the victory.
The Tufts Womens squash team will will be back on home court at the Tufts Squash Center Tuesday January 23 at 5pm to take on MIT.
