CAMBRIDGE, MA (October 12, 2024) - In an event which is primarily a practice run for next weekend's Head of the Charles Regatta, the Tufts University women's rowing team had two eights competing in today's Head of the Kevin on the Charles.
The 11th team to start on the three-mile course today out of 110 total competitors, the Jumbo first varsity eight put together a 17:09.7 time. Part of the event is to compete against Head of the Charles gold medal standard times. For Women's College Eights the standard was 16:05, with the Tufts time achieving a 93.7 percent score in their race. Amongst the regatta's singles, doubles, fours and eights competitors where everyone is measured against their own standard, Tufts' mark was 25th best against its standard.

The Tufts B boat was comprised of the second varsity eight. They raced to a 17:58.1 finish that was 89.5 percent of the standard. They had a 54th-place finish amongst all 110 competitors.
