MEDFORD, MA (February 28, 2024) - The No. 12 ranked Tufts University women's squash team will head to Philadelphia P.A. to compete in the CSA (College Squash Association) National Collegiate Team Championships. The Jumbos will take on No. 5 Yale University in the round of 16 on Thursday, February 28. The Jumbos will compete for the Howe Cup, only the top 12 schools in the nation get the chance to compete for this prestigious trophy.

Looking at the Jumbos
The Jumbos (12-6) are coming off a loss in the NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference) finals to Trinity College. The Jumbos beat Middlebury College in the NESCAC semifinals to get to the finals on February 11.

Nieve Monderer who all have eclipsed 11 wins on the season. Xu is 11-6 on the season and has won six of her last ten matches. She has performed best in the 8 spot for the Jumbos as she holds a 7-4 record in that spot. Vissapragada is 11-7 on the season and has won five of her last ten matches. She is 5-4 in the No. 7 spot and also is 4-2 in the sixth spot. Monderer is 11-5 on the season, she has won seven of her last ten matches. She is 6-3 from the No. 6 spot.
Junior
Riddhi Joshi is currently 9-8 on the season she plays most of her matches in the No. 2 spot, and she also is 3-0 from the No. 3 spot. Sophomore Varsha Dinesh has played all of her matches at the No. 1 spot as she is 8-5 from the first position in the season. She has won 6 of her last ten matches. Freshman Chole Bergam has been great for the Jumbos all season as she holds an 8-5 record on the year. She has won six of her last 10 and s 7-3 from the nine spot.
Seniors
Caroline Chin and
Kate Chang have also been great depth for the Jumbos. Chin holds a record of 9-9 on the season and has won 4 of her last 10. Chang is 4-2 on the season and is 3-1 at the No. 8 spot.

Looking at the Bulldogs
Yale is 6-4 on the season coming off a loss to Trinity. The Bulldogs have faced all four top teams that are in the tournament. They defeated No. 4 ranked University of Pennsylvania earlier this month.
The Bulldogs are led by senior Sneha Shivakumar, who has a record of 8-2. Sophomore Joy Qu is 7-3 on the season. Junior Meghna Sreedhar is also 7-3 on the season for the Bulldogs.
Rest of the field
Trinity College will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament as they are the only squash team in the nation that is undefeated. Harvard University is the No. 2 seed, Princeton University is the No. 3 seed, and Pennsylvania is the No. 4 seed. All four of those schools received first-round byes. The winner of Tufts and Yale will take on Pennsylvania in the quarterfinal.
