Womens Squash Falls to No. 2 Harvard 8-1

MEDFORD, MA (February 6, 2024) -The No. 11 Tufts University women's squash team faced off in their last regular season match of the season against No. 2 Harvard University. The Crimson bested the Jumbos 8-1. The match took place at the Tufts Squash Center on the campus of Tufts University.

The Jumbos saw their only win of the night come from freshman Sonya Bajaj who was slated into the No. 9 spot. She faced off against Harbour Woodward and was able to defeat her in four sets 13-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-8.  The win for Bajaj marks her second win on the season. 

The Crimson (9-1) were in control of the match all night, they won 7-9 matches in straight sets. At the No. 5 spot senior Sanjana Vissapragada was able to take a set against Ella Galova but the set win wouldn't be enough as she fell in four sets 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 11-3.

The Jumbos women's squash team finished the regular season (10-5). Senior Ellyn Xu, junior Nieve Monderer, and Vissapragada all finished the regular season with a team-leading nine wins. For the Jumbos they will travel to Amherst, Mass. Saturday, February 10 to compete in the NESCAC Tournament Playoff. The Jumbos are the No. 2 seed going into the Tournament.
