Kate Bayard and her squad will travel to Wesleyan University Friday afternoon to start action in the 2024 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament, as the Jumbos look for their first conference crown in program history. Tufts has won five of its last six matches coming into the weekend, but fell to Amehrst College 5-4 last Sunday to end the regular season.

Against Williams All-Time
The Jumbos start the NESCAC Tournament with a tough task, taking on No. 10 Williams College after falling to the Ephs 5-4 back on March 9 up in Williamstown. Williams has won the most NCAA titles in Division III history with 10, while the Ephs' 10 all-time NESCAC champions are the most in league history. The Jumbos are 14-40 against Williams all-time, as the Ephs won 37 straight from 1992 to 2018. The Jumbos played Williams last year in the NESCAC quarterfinals, with Williams earning a 5-1 win. Tufts is 0-4 against Williams in the NESCAC Tournament all-time.
A Look At The Jumbos (9-7, 6-4 NESCAC)
Tufts has won seven of its last nine matches coming into the weekend, including a five-match win streak against NESCAC competition despite its 5-4 loss to Amhest last Sunday. Tufts has seen a ton of depth from it's lineup this year, as four of the straight lineup have 10 or more wins.
First-year
Natalie Hu has been very strong as she has gone 8-2 in NESCAC action and 11-5 on the season, winning her last six matches overall. Hu has also gone 9-2 at the No. 5 position this year. Senior
Zoe Kava has has gone 10-6 at the No. 1 spot in 2023-24, going 8-2 in NESCAC play while fellow senior
Rebecca Lim has posted a 10-6 record at No. 2.
Lucy Mitchell has come back from injury to go 9-2 at No. 4 while winning her last six matches overall.
Sophie Wax has battled at No. 3 for the Jumbos, and has picked up four wins at the spot, while
Steffy Jullian and
Nikki Kintiroglou have shared the No. 6 position as Kintiroglou has won five straight matches on the season.
In doubles, Hu and
Stephanie Woodbury lead the team with 10 victories together on the year. Jullian and Wax are 6-6 as a duo at No. 3 doubles, while Kava and Lim have gone 6-10 together at the No. 1 spot.
A Look At The NESCAC
Wesleyan comes in to the weekend as the top seed, as the Cardinals are looking for fifth title since 1999 and fifth straight. The Cardinals have not lost in 2024, going 15-0 and 10-0 in NESCAC play. Caitlyn Ferrante is 12-3 at the No. 1 position, going 7-3 in NESCAC action this season, while Sarah Youngberg is 10-3 at No. 2. Renna Mohsen-Breen is also 15-0 on the year for the Cardinals, going an undefeated 10-0 at No. 6 in league action.
The Panthers of Middlebury are the No. 2 seed, going 9-1 in the conference, while posting an 11-4 record overall. Amherst is 7-3 as well, going 12-5 on the campaign, while Bowdoin, Colby and Hamilton round out the eight seeds.
Williams is led by Annabelle Siegel, who has won her last six splitting time between No. 2 and No. 3 singles while chalking up a 14-2 record overall. Erica Ekstrand is 7-4 overall, playing all of her matches at No. 1, and Yuu Ishikawa is 8-2 in NESCAC play while playing both No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Doubles is led for the Ephs by Ekstrand and Ishikawa at No. 1, going 11-2 on the season.
