Kava's Run Through NCAA Singles' Championships Comes To An End Sunday

ST. LOUIS (May 26, 2024) -- Tufts University senior Zoe Kava played well on Sunday morning in the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles' Championships, but Kava's run through the tournament came to an end in the quarterfinals in action at Forest Lake Tennis Club outside of St. Louis. 

Kava took the lead on her foe from the University of Chicago, Sylwia Mikos, posting a 6-4 win in the opening set. Mikos regained her footing though in the second set, taking the stanza 6-2. Mikos kept her momentum going into the third set, earning a 6-2 win in the third to advance to the semifinals. 

Mikos continued on with another win later in the day, and will take on her teammate Rena Lin in the Division III national championship match Monday at 9 a.m.
