Men's Tennis Falls Just Short At NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships Monday

ST. LOUIS, MO (May 28, 2024) -- The Tufts University men's tennis season finally came to an end on Monday afternoon, as the Jumbos finished action at the 2024 NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships.

Junior Vuk Vuksanovic started the afternoon in the NCAA Singles quarterfinals, knocking off Andreas Sillaste of Amherst College in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. The win pushed Vuksanovic into the semifinals against Bowdoin College's Tristan Bradley.

The semifinal bout with Bradley was very similar to their two previous battles this season, as both were stellar and demonstrated shot-making abilities. Vuksanovic led 5-4 in the opening set but dropped the next three games as Bradley fought off two break points up 6-5 to claim the opening set.

In the second set, Vuksanovic was once again up 5-4 but Bradley repeated the feat from the first set to win three straight to earn the match victory 7-5, 7-5.

Vuksanovic would be back in action in doubles with Alex Ganchev in the NCAA Quarterfinals, but the duo would drop a 7-5, 7-5 decision to Aiden Drover-Mattinen and Andy Zhu of RPI.

The finals in the singles and doubles' play will be Tuesday afternoon.
