Melanie Woodbury finished her first tournament in college Sunday with a strong performance, as the first-year finished as the 2024 MIT Invitational runner-up while
Athena Li and
Natalie Hu were champions of the doubles' consolation bracket.
Woodbury started the day with a win over Caroline Stuhlfaut of Bowdoin College in the semifinals, earning a 6-2, 7-6 (3) win to advance to the title match against MIT's Fiona Lee. In the finals, Lee would earn the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 score line.
In the doubles' consolation final, Li and Hu outlasted Candice Ballarin and Julia Ross 8-5 to pick up the championship.
Tufts will now saddle up for another busy week, as the Jumbos head to the ITA Regionals at Bowdoin College next Friday, Setember 20.
