Sacha Maes started off the day for the Jumbos in the semifinals of the main draw going up against Nicholas Chen and Simon Volkem of Williams College. Maes and Ganchev found themselves in a tight battle but ultimately fell 8-5 to the Eph duo.
Tufts found themselves controlling the "B" draw semifinals as both
Nico Tremblay and
Jackson Rich held spots in the final four. Tremblay faced up against Brandeis's Aidan Wang-Fan. He made quick work of Wang-Fan, taking him down in straight sets 7-5, 6-0. Rich booked his spot in the finals after beating Jack Ling of Williams College handily 6-2, 6-3.
The "B" draw final was a tough fight between the two Jumbos, Tremblay and Rich. The freshman Rich eventually bested Tremblay 7-6 (7-2) in the first set before opening up a lead in the second set to clinch the match with a 6-1 second set.
It was an all around successful weekend for the Jumbos who finished their fall campaign and will look forward to building on the momentum in the spring.
