MEDFORD, MA (November 17, 2025) – All 14 Tufts University cross country runners who competed at the NCAA Men's and Women's East Region Championship on Saturday earned All-Region Awards by placing in the top 35 individually. These honorees were officially recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) on Monday.
The Tufts women's team won the NCAA East Region title to earn an automatic berth into this week's NCAA National Championship race. Their All-Region performers, along with their finishes at the meet, were senior
Liz Donahue (5th), sophomore
Zoe Margolies (11th), first-year
Zui Chinchalkar (12th), first-year
Lily Simmonds (13th), junior
Katya Henisz (15th), sophomore
Deirdre Flanagan (19th) and sophomore
Samara McVey (24th).
This is the third All-Region recognition for Donahue, and the second for both Margolies and Henisz. The other four were running at the Regional for the first time and achieved the All-Region honor for the first time.
For the men, who were the Regional runner-up as a team, senior
Amokrane Aouchiche was the runner-up individually. He was joined in earning USTFCCCA All-Region accolades by senior
Quinn Hampson (5th), senior
Calvin Cummings (10th), junior
Jonah Reisner (11th), junior
Avery Smart (21st), junior
Sam Kurian (26th) and senior
Luke Brennan (31st).
Aouchiche, Brennan and Cummings finish their careers as perfect four-time All-Region recipients. Hampson has now earned All-Region three times, while Reisner receives his second All-Region award. Smart and Kurian are first-time All-Region recipients who were competing at the race for the first time.
Both Jumbo squads will run at the 2025 NCAA National Championship meet to be held at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
