Aires Takes Home NESCAC Player of the Week Honors After Pair of Wins

MEDFORD, MA (November 3, 2025) -- Senior forward Elsi Aires scored three goals last week in a pair of wins, including netting the game-winning goal Saturday in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) quarterfinals, and was named as this week's NESCAC Player of the Week Monday.

Aires netted three goals for six points last week. Aires tallied two markers in Tufts' victory in the regular-season finale versus Bowdoin. The senior also scored the game-winning goal for the top-seeded Jumbos in a 2-1 win over Wesleyan, as her shot from the edge of the box in the 63rd minute was the difference. It was Aires' 10th goal of the season. The forward has posted double-digit goals in each of her last three seasons at Tufts. Aires has scored four game-winning goals this season, matching her mark from the previous two seasons.

The honor was the second of the career for Aires, who also was named NESCAC Player of the Year back during her sophomore season on September 11, 2023. Since the 2021 season, Aires, Caroline Kelly and Nicola Sommers have been the only Jumbos players to earn the award.

Tufts will play host to the NESCAC Tournament semifinals and finals this upcoming weekend, November 8-9, on Bello Field as the Jumbos take on Colby College at 4 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals.
