MEDFORD, MA (March 25, 2025) - Tufts University junior
Scott Gyimesi and sophomore
Liam Kennelly have earned spots on the 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a regular in the team's line-up with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started at least two-thirds of the team's contests.
Gyimesi, an economics major, played in all 28 games and started 27 as a forward for head coach
Brandon Linton's Jumbos. Also an economics major, Kennelly played in all 28 games with two starts at guard. The 2024-25 Jumbos finished 22-6 and advanced into the NCAA Tournament, hosting first and second round games. They were in the #16 position of the final D3hoops.com national poll.
Gyimesi is a repeat honoree from the Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team of 2023-24.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 16, 2025.
