Tufts vs. Williams All-Time
The Jumbos and Ephs will meet in the NESCAC Tournament for the sixth time in program history on Saturday afternoon, with Tufts owning a 4-1 record in the previous five outings in the postseason. The two teams have had a spirited rivalry over the years, with Tufts owning a 31-20 series edge thanks to the current 13-game winning streak that the Jumbos possess. Tufts has won the last 12 meetings in Medford against the Ephs, dating back to 2009, and are coming off a 15-4 win over Williams earlier this season on April 2 on Bello Field. The last NESCAC Tournament meeting came in 2021, when Tufts defeated Williams 18-11 in the NESCAC title game.

A Look At The No. 1 Jumbos (15-0, 10-0 NESCAC)
Tufts comes into the weekend with a 20-match win streak dating back to the 2024 postseason, and the win streak is the longest in all of NCAA lacrosse. Tufts is one of just two teams still undefeated in Division III lacrosse, as Salisbury University is also undefeated at 16-0. The Jumbos have shown the ability to win games in a wide variety of games, outscoring teams in wins like topping Wesleyan University 20-19 in overtime while gutting out defensive struggles like in a 9-6 win at Stevens earlier this season.

The Jumbos lead the league in scoring margin at 7.9 goals per game, while their 17.07 goals per game is best in the NESCAC and 11th nationally. Tufts also possessed the third-best scoring defense in the conference allowing just under eight goals per contest. The squad ranks fifth in the nation in ground balls per game, thanks to its strong face-off group that has won 61.6 percent of face-offs which is 41st in the nation and third in the league. Tufts is also clearing at a 90 percent rate, 10th nationally, and has caused a league-high 10.53 turnovers per game.

Junior Jack Regnery leads the squad and is second in goals per game this season with 4.00 a night, while leading the NESCAC in points per game with 5.42. Regnery and senior Max Ettinghausen each have four game-winning goals to pace the Jumbos, as Ettinghausen has also tallied 39 times as part of a group that has five players with 20 or more goals. Junior Brooks Hauser has 34 scores and 15 helpers, adding 24 ground balls, and Garrett Kelly has 29 goals and two game-winning goals, both in overtime.

Senior Charlie Tagliaferri and sophomore Will Emsing each have been solid contributors from the midfield, as Tagliaferri leads the team with 18 assists while Emsing has 17 goals and 15 assists for 32 points. Beau Keough has come off the bench in 12 of his 15 games played and has tallied 14 goals to go with 11 helpers. Defensively, Michael Ayers and Joey Waldbaum have continued their strong careers as seniors, and sophomore Logan Lee has forced a team-high 18 caused turnovers. Junior LSM Ben Frisoli has scored nine goals to go with 15 caused turnovers and 27 ground balls, and George Panagopoulos has 18 grounders and 10 caused turnovers.

Parker Merril leads the team with 138 face-off wins, posting a 65.1 percent draw percentage, while junior Victor Salcedo is also winning 59.0 percent of his face-offs. Fifth-year goalkeeper Conner Garzone has stopped 144 shots this season, while his save percentage of 56.5 percent is third in the NESCAC.

Tufts has appeared in every NESCAC Tournament, a streak of 24 seasons, while winning 12 of the last 14 conference crowns.

A Look at Williams (7-8, 4-6 NESCAC)
The Ephs come into the postseason in search of its second NESCAC title, winning its first and only title back in 2008. The Ephs are appearing in their 18th conference tournament, and have made the NESCAC finals three times including back in 2021. Williams is the No. 8 seed for the first time in its program's history.

Williams comes into the weekend with the NESCAC's seventh-rated scoring offense, tallying 10.87 goals per game, though the Ephs have surrendered 181 goals on the season which ranks 10th in the NESCAC. The man-up unit for the Ephs have been efficient this season, ranking second in the conference with a 41.7 percent success rate, 29th in the nation. Williams has struggled this season in clearing, ranking 10th in the NESCAC in the statistic with just an 82.7 percent clip.

The Ephs have gotten pretty solid goalkeeping this year from Matt Wetmore, who ranks third in the NESCAC and 31st in Division III with 14.07 saves per game. His save percentage of .555 is also top 50 in the country. Williams is led offensively by Jesse Shapiro and his 2.60 goals per game, which is sixth in the NESCAC, while Harrison Cross and his 33 goals are 14th most in the conference. Will Doran is the leading set-up man with 27 helpers this year, fourth in the league, while Cross also ranks 15th in the league with 17 this season.

Eddie Loyd is second in the NESCAC in caused turnovers defensively with 30 on the season, while Aidan Housenbold also is third with 28 forced giveaways. Ian Kim is the leading face-off man with a 54.2 percent winning percentage, winning 136 draws, and Ethan Filler has also taken 134 on the year.
