Javier Gonzalez won his first two matches at the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Singles and Doubles Championships, while Gonzalez and senior
Vuk Vuksanovic survived to the second round as well with a doubles victory at Biszantz Tennis Center at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (CMS).
In singles play, Gonzalez opened action with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Caleb Wilkins of Chapman University. He then followed that up in the Second Round with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (5) win over Jordan Theron of Sewanee: The College of the South.
Vuksanovic defeated Eric Kuo of Washington University of St. Louis in the First Round, but would fall to Noah Laber of Middlebury College 6-4, 6-4 in the Second Round to end his singles run.
In doubles, Gonzalez and Vuksanovic knocked off Theron and Quinn Wickland 6-4, 6-1 to move into Saturday's Second Round. They will play Josh Kim and Advik Mareedu of CMS Saturday at 5 p.m.
Gonzalez will take on Aiden Drover-Mattinen of RPI in the NCAA Third Round Saturday in play from Biszantz Tennis Center.
