CLAREMONT, CA (May 25, 2025) -- The Tufts University men's tennis duo of
Vuk Vuksanovic and
Javier Gonzalez will play in the the NCAA Doubles Final on Monday afternoon after earning a hard fought win Sunday in the semifinals.
In the NCAA Doubles semifinals, Vuksanovic and Gonzalez would post a thrilling three-set win over Pato Garcia Muriel and Stefan Hester of Washington University of St. Louis, posting a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 victory. What's more impressive is that Gonzalez was forced to retire earlier in the day from his NCAA Singles Semifinal to Kael Shah of Denison, but gutted out the doubles' match for his senior partner.
Gonzalez and Vuksanovic will now look to earn the NCAA Doubles title on Monday at noon local time at Biszantz Tennis Center on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, taking on No. 2 seed Andrei Leonov and Pat Otero of the University of Chicago.
