MEDFORD, MA (June 13, 2025) – The coaching staff for the NCAA champion women's rowing team earned national honors from the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced today.
Head Coach
Lily Siddall won the Division III CRCA National Coach of the Year award, and assistant coaches
Ethan Maines,
Kaitlyn Severin and
Emelie Eldracher were awarded the Natioanl Staff of the Year honor. This is the second straight year that Tufts has won the national and regional coaching honors from the CRCA.
The CRCA Coach and Staff of the Year Awards honor the exceptional leaders behind the success of collegiate rowing programs across all NCAA divisions and the lightweight category. These awards recognize those who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, competitive achievement, and a deep commitment to the student-athletes and teams they guide. Whether through championship performance, transformative program growth, or the cultivation of team culture, these awards celebrate the individuals and staffs who elevate the sport and embody the values of excellence, integrity, and impact.
The Jumbo coaches had been announced as New England Region Division III Coach and Staff of the Year a week ago on June 6. That was also the second straight year Tufts was recognized regionally.
"I am incredibly grateful and honored to be named coach of the year," Siddall said. "Coaching is truly the best job in the world and I love being able to be out on the water every day. I have incredible respect for my colleagues and am so excited for the future of D3 rowing.
"Also, a huge thank you the entire Tufts rowing staff," she continued. "It truly takes a team. Each coach brought something special to the group this year with the diversity of backgrounds and expertise. Huge thank you to Ethan, Kaity and Emelie for all their hard work, care and love they put into Tufts rowing. I couldn't think of a more deserving group."
Siddall and her staff guided the Jumbos to their second straight NCAA title this spring, with both the first varsity and second varsity winning their races at the NCAA event. The Jumbos also repeated as NESCAC and NIRC Points Trophy champions in the spring, and as winners of the collegiate eights event at the Head of the Charles Regatta in the fall.
Along with the success of Tufts' top two boats, the third and fourth eights won NIRC titles and were undefeated all spring. The deep Tufts team also filled a fifth eight this year.
The Jumbos also succeeded in the classroom. A total of 23 team members earned NESCAC All-Academic Team awards this year for carrying grade point averages of 3.50 or better.
