MEDFORD, MA (June 24, 2025) - Tufts University has five student-athletes recognized on the 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic achievements.
The Jumbos receiving the honor are graduate student
Harper Meek and 2025 Tufts University graduates
Jordan Andrew,
Annika Kral,
Emma Smith and
Nyla Thompson. Andrew and Meek have earned the recognition for the second straight year.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a significant contributor to the team with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. A limit of five nominations per team is set. In Track & Field / Cross Country, nominees must be ranked among the Top 50 in the region in at least one event (XC, indoor or outdoor).
Andrew (computer science degree), Kral (child study and human development degree), Meek (biomedical engineering graduate student) and Smith (biochemistry degree) all competed at the NCAA Championships this year, while Thompson (psychology degree) helped Tufts win its first-ever New England Division III Outdoor Championship in the spring.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track & field / cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 15.
