BOSTON, MA (September 13, 2025) - Another strong performance by first-year skipper
Maddie Janzen and senior crew
Lilly Ladd led the Tufts University women's sailing team this week.
Janzen and Ladd were third in B division to lead the Jumbos 1 boat to fifth overall at the Regis Trophy hosted by Boston University on Saturday. They had a score of 16 for five races, which tied for second in B's. However, they lost a head-to-head tie-breaker versus Brown University which put Tufts third. The Tufts pair had runner-up scores in today's fourth and fifth races.
The Jumbos 1 team also had senior skipper
Ella Hubbard with junior crew
Eloise Goedkoop competing. This duo was 9th in A division with a 41 score after winning the fifth and final start of the day.
With the 41 score in A's and 16 in B's, the Jumbos 1 total of 57 was fifth out of the 18 teams overall.
Tufts also had a Jumbos 2 team in action. Sophomore skipper
Sophia Hubbard and senior crew
Lilah Parker were 10th in A's with their 44 score. Their best race was the last one when they were fifth. The
Jumbos 2 B boat had sophomore skipper
Kiana Beachy with sophomore crew
Patricia Winssinger. They were eighth in B division with a 46 score that included a fifth in the fourth race.
Brown University won the one-day regatta with a 19-16-35 scoring line.
