MEDFORD, MA (September 15, 2025) – Tufts University junior setter
Rianna Liu has earned NESCAC Volleyball Player of the Week honors today after helping the Jumbos to three victories.
Tufts had straight-set victories against WPI on Wednesday and versus Stevens and Drew on Saturday – all on the road. Riu played in eight games and totaled 48 assists (6.0 per game), 11 service aces (1.4) and 24 digs (3.0).
Riu finished with 19 assists and seven digs in the WPI match. At Stevens, she added 17 assists and nine digs. While playing just two games against Drew, she amassed seven aces, eight digs and 12 assists.
A first-time Player of the Week honoree, Riu is the first Tufts setter to win the NESCAC award since 2011 when former All-American Kendall Lord was recognized.
Early in the season, Liu ranks ninth in the conference for assists per game (5.43), 12th in service aces (0.57) and 18th in digs (2.65).

Cora Thompson's Jumbos have won five matches in a row and sit at 6-1 overall entering their first conference action this weekend.
