ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (September 28, 2025) - Tufts Women's Sailing qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championship (ACC) finals with a third-place finish at the ACC Round 1A event which finished on Sunday in Maryland.
The Jumbos needed to be in the top nine out of the 17 teams at this weekend's regatta, and they did so easily. In nine races for both A and B divisions over the weekend, Tufts' third-place score was 58 for A's and 41 for B's adding up to a 99 team total. They were behind only first-place Dartmouth College (73) and runner-up Georgetown University (75).
This marks the fourth straight year that the Jumbos have reached the ACC finals.
Due to slow conditions today, only three A and B races were run. Tufts' A division team had senior skipper
Ella Hubbard with junior crew
Eloise Goedkoop, and they were sixth, third and 12th today. Tufts was seventh for A division overall.
In B races, Jumbo first-year skipper
Maddie Janzen with senior crew
Lilly Ladd had second and 10th-place finishes on Sunday. Sophomore
Sophia Hubbard skippered today's third race with senior
Lilah Parker as crew and they were fifth. Tufts placed third for B's overall.
The ACC finals will be held locally in two weeks on the Charles River. MIT will host the Championship.
