MALDEN, MA (January 10, 2026) – Ben Jenkinson scored with 2:21 remaining in regulation to propel visiting Endicott College past Tufts University 4-3 in a non-conference matchup today at the Valley Forum.
With the scored deadlocked at 3-3, Endicott's Antti Autere blasted a shot from the left point off a feed from John Goldowski. Jenkinson redirected the shot on goal and found the back of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.
The Jumbos emptied their net to bring on the extra skater with just under 90 seconds remaining in the third. Tufts applied pressure on the Gulls, but Endicott found a way to erase any potential threat to even the score.
Endicott was ranked 11
th in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll and they improved to 11-1-1 and continue their streak of no regulation losses on the road.
Tufts held a 3-1 lead heading into the second intermission after a two-goal second period.
Max Resnick buried his fifth goal of the season after the Jumbos ran the cycle in the bottom of Endicott's zone,
Maddox Lizotte fired the puck towards goal from the right boards and Resnick was able to tip it by the Gulls' goaltender.
With 9:59 remaining in the second,
Sylas Oberting and
John Mulvihill went tape-to-tape through the neutral zone, Mulvihill then wristed the puck around the boards finding
Liam O'Hare who then put a shot on goal towards Peter Sterling, the Endicott netminder was not expecting the shot and the puck found the bottom right corner of the goal.
Brendan Fennell opened the scoring 7:32 into the first period, Fennell shoved the puck back to
Drew Pitts after winning the face-off. Pitts then passed along the blue line to
Jonathan Horn who rocketed a one-timer to the right of the net, finding Fennell's stick which tipped it past Sterling giving Tufts the 1-0 lead.
The Gulls responded seven minutes later, bringing the game back to even. After winning the offensive zone face-off, Jenkinson made his way around the Jumbos goal ripped off a shot from the goal line and somehow managed to squeak it by
Gus Bylin.
Sterling was solid between the pipes for Endicott, making 28 saves in the win. The Jumbos held a slight advantage in the shot department over the Gulls 31-28. Bylin finished with 24 saves in the loss.
The Jumbos return to conference action next week as they visit Hamilton College on Friday, January 16 at 7 PM.
