WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 16, 2026) -- The No. 11 Tufts University women's squash team shook off a heartbreaking loss to Amherst College earlier this week with a strong road effort Friday evening, as the Jumbos traveled to our nation's capital and knocked off No. 15 Georgetown University 6-3 in play from Squash On Fire.
The Jumbos were solid throughout the lineup, as No. 1
Vharsha Dinesh won her third straight match with an exciting five-game victory over Cecilia Curran 9-11, 11-9, 11-7, 6-11 and 11-8 at the top spot.
Junior
Maria Arseniev fell in the opening game to Sanah Syed at the No. 2 position, but rallied with three straight game victories to clinch the match 9-11, 11-7, 13-11 and 11-5. Tufts would fall at No. 3 and No. 4, but sophomore
Anika Goyal chalked up her fifth straight victory at the No. 5 spot as she outlasted Mary Kacergis 10-12, 11-5, 11-3, 10-12 and 11-5 in five games. Goyal is now 7-2 on the season, as her seven wins leads the squad.
At No. 6, junior
Chloe Bergam had a strong effort to top Aarohi Kuthari 11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 12-10, while sophomore
Indira Moshi continued her dominant play of late with a straight game win with scores of 11-6, 11-7 and 11-9 at the No. 8 spot. Moshi is now 5-2 on the season, with wins in her last four matches.
The ninth position saw sophomore
Anika Parr trip up Sydney Bramen 11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 11-7 to aid in the win for the Jumbos. Parr is now .500 on the season at 4-4.
Tufts will travel the short trip to Northern Virginia to take on No. 6 University of Virginia at The St. James in Springfield, Virginia Saturday at 1 p.m.
