Men's Golf Ends Two-Round First Day of Skidmore Invitational Tied for Fifth

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (October 10, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf team opened up their final tournament of the fall in the Skidmore College Fall Invitational this morning. The Jumbos are currently tied for fifth as a team with Clarkson after the two-round first day.
 
Senior JP Noone highlights the Jumbo active lineup as he is currently tied for seventh individually out of 112 golfers. Noone started the event on the 14th hole in both rounds today due to the shotgun start. In the morning 18, the Weston native carded five birdies and just three bogeys to finish with a two under par score of 70. In the afternoon, the senior tallied three birdies on his way to a two over par scorecard of 74.
 
First year Matthew Maurice put on a strong showing on day one, as he currently tied for 23rd individually. Maurice started on hole number 16 in the morning and started off hot with three straight par or better holes with a birdie on the 17th. The Las Vegas native was scorching in the afternoon round and carded five birdies compared to just two bogeys to finish with a three under par stroke total of 69.
 
Jason Zawtocki and Brendan Roy are both tied for 45th place individually after the 36 hole day with a six over par mark. Zawtocki shot a three over par score of 75 in the morning with a birdie on his second hole and tallied the same score in round number two with the three birdies. Roy put together a solid one over par score in the opening 18, before shooting a five over park mark of 77 in the afternoon.
 
Nick McCabe filled out the active lineup for the Jumbos and is currently tied for 65th individually with an 11 over par two-round total.  The senior shot an eight over par round of 80 in the morning and responded to that with a respectable three over par score of 75 in second round of the day.
 
First year Bo Schlosser competed independently for the Jumbos and captured a six over par scorecard of 78 in the first round, followed by a three over par stroke total of 75 on the second way through.
 
The Jumbos will look the climb up the leaderboard tomorrow, with the third and final round of the Skidmore College Fall Invitational set to start in the morning.
