BRUNSWICK, ME (September 27, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf team earned their second third place team finish of the fall after today's final round of the Bowdoin Invitational at Brunswick Golf Club in Brunswick, ME.
Senior
JP Noone came into the final round this morning tied for 12th individually and after a superb round of 72, even par, he moved up to tie for 10th for his second straight top-10 individual finish. Noone started on hole number three and picked up three straight pars right away. From hole nine to all the way back to hole one, the Weston native was striking the ball well, carding zero bogeys and three birdies. Noone capped off the event with a four over par stroke total throughout the 54-hole invitational.
Nick McCabe earned a solid three over par stroke total in the final round of 18 this afternoon to finish 24th individually. The senior started on the first hole and avenged an opening bogey with an eagle on the second hole. The Hingham native was locked I until the end, as he recorded three pars and two birdies through his final five holes.
Jason Zawtocki and
Brendan Roy both ended the three-round event with an individual ranking of t-25th after registering a nine over par three-round total. Zawtocki started on the second hole and nabbed three consecutive pars to open the day similar to Noone. On holes nine through 17, the sophomore put together nine consecutive par or better holes with a birdie on the 16th and finished the day with a four over mark of 76. Roy tallied a five over par scorecard in today's final round and started on the second hole with Zawtocki. The senior responded to a double-bogey on his opening hole with four pars and a birdie within his next six holes.
Brooks Cahill-Sanidas filled out the active roster for the Jumbos in Brunswick, capturing a t-56th place finish with a six over par score over 78 in the third and final round. The junior notched two birdies, both of which came on the back nine, and shot an even par score of 35 on the second nine.
Independently,
Matthew Maurice had a standout debut in the Brown and Blue, collecting an even par score of 72 in the final round today and posting a nine over par mark across the long 54-hole weekend. The first year grabbed three birdies throughout the day, with two coming consecutively inside of his last four holes.
Tufts ended the tournament above seven fellow NESCAC opponents including Trinity (CT), Bowdoin, Amherst, Bates, Williams, Wesleyan, and Colby. Middlebury was the lone NESCAC foe to get the better of the Jumbos after they captured a runner-up ranking.
The Jumbos will return to the course in the Skidmore College Fall Invitational on the weekend of October 10th-11th at Ballston Spa Country Club in Saratoga Springs, NY.
