Women's Sailing 8th Following One Day at ACC Finals in Maryland

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (October 17, 2026) - Tufts women's sailing is eighth of 18 teams after Saturday at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship Finals, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland in 420s.

The Jumbos have 175 points (80 in A, 95 in B) after ten races in each division. Tufts earned its spot in the ACC finals by finishing second at ACC Round 1A on Oct. 4, the program's fifth straight trip to the finals.

A Division with sophomore skipper Maddie Janzen and senior Eloise Goedkoop (Races 1-6 & 10) and sophomore Ella Hecker (Races 7-9) as crews is seventh-best in the fleet with their 80 points. The B Division duo of junior skipper Sophia Hubbard and first-year crew Caroline Collins is 11th in the fleet with their 95 score.

In their fifth straight ACC finals, Tufts is looking to hold or improve its position in order to top last year's ninth-place effort that is their best at the event. The Jumbos are one point behind Georgetown (174), five ahead of Dartmouth (180), and nine ahead of Fordham (184). Charleston is sixth at 165, only 10 points ahead. Roger Williams is 15 points ahead in fifth.

First warning for Sunday racing is set for 9:45 AM.
