ENFIELD, NH (October 31, 2026) - The Tufts University women's sailing team is fifth in a 16-team field after one day at the Victorian Urn Trophy, the New England fall championship, with 121 points. The Jumbos are just two points behind fourth-place Yale (119) and are three points ahead of sixth-place Dartmouth (124).

The Jumbos closed Saturday's action very strong. Tufts and Dartmouth were tied at 111 points heading into the final race, and the Jumbos pulled ahead when sophomore skipper
Maddie Janzen and senior crew
Eloise Goedkoop won the last race in A Division. Junior skipper
Sophia Hubbard and junior crew
Kiana Beachy had won the previous race in B Division, giving Tufts back-to-back wins late in the day.
Tufts scored 61 points in A Division and 60 in B Division, putting both teams fifth in their groups through one day. They combined for six finishes in the top three across the two divisions.
Janzen skippered A Division throughout. She and Goedkoop opened with a 12th and a fourth, and Goedkoop was her crew for the rest of the regatta except for the third and fourth races, which Janzen sailed with sophomore crew
