Women's Sailing 2nd at Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1A Regatta So Far

ENFIELD, NH (October 3, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team is in second place out of 18 teams at the Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1A regatta hosted by Dartmouth College on Saturday.

The Jumbo B division duo of sophomore skipper Maddie Janzen and first-year crew Sophie Dart are leading the way. They are first in B division through eight races with finishes totaling to 20, including three straight wins in the middle of the day. MIT is the second-place B division team with a 39 score.

Tufts has a 97 team score overall, which includes a 77 for A division. Tufts' 97 is just three behind regatta leader Stanford University (49-45-94). Yale University is in third place with a 57-41-98 scoring line.

For A's, the Tufts combo of junior skipper Sophia Hubbard with first-year crew Fiona Barbeito are in fifth place with their 77 score over 10 races. They had a pair of second-place finishes today.

Tufts will need to be among the top nine overall to following Sunday's action in order to qualify for the Atlantic Coast Championship finals coming up later this month. An Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1B regatta is being held at Bowdoin this, with its top nine also advancing to the finals.

Tomorrow's action is set to begin at 10:00 AM.
