MEDFORD, MA (February 13, 2026) -- The Tufts University women's squash team opens play Saturday as the No. 3 seed at the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships this weekend, as the Jumbos take on Bowdoin College at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.
The Tufts University women's squash team enters the postseason with a 9-5 overall record and a strong body of work against elite competition. The Jumbos posted a 5-1 mark at home and went 8-5 against nationally ranked opponents, demonstrating consistency across the ladder while navigating one of the nation's most challenging schedules.
Tufts opened the season with a statement 5-4 victory over Columbia University and added dominant shutout wins over Hamilton College, Connecticut College, and Wesleyan University. The Jumbos also earned convincing 8-1 conference victories against Colby College, Bowdoin College, and Middlebury College while picking up a ranked road win over Georgetown University.
Across the lineup, Tufts produced a 76-50 individual match record (.603), highlighted by exceptional depth in the middle of the order.
Leading the way, Anika Goyal delivered a team-best 11-3 record and finished the regular season on a four-match winning streak. Vharsha Dinesh provided one of the team's most dominant stretches, going 8–3 overall and closing with seven consecutive victories. Indira Moshi (7-4) and Anika Parr (8-5) added consistent production in the lower half of the ladder, while Sohni Vermani compiled a strong 6-2 mark and Chloe Bergam contributed seven wins across multiple positions.
Tufts demonstrated particular strength at the No. 5 and No. 1 positions, each producing double-digit team wins, while the No. 6 position led the lineup with a .786 winning percentage.
Entering the NESCAC Championship, the Jumbos carry momentum from four wins in their final six matches, including three decisive conference victories. With balanced scoring throughout the ladder and multiple players in strong form, Tufts is positioned to compete for a top finish against the conference's nationally ranked field.
Tufts is the No. 3 seed for the first time in program history, as the Jumbos have qualified for every NESCAC Tournament. Tufts has finished as the NESCAC Runners-Up at the last four tournaments.
Trinity College will be the No. 1 seed, looking for its 19th all-time NESCAC title in as many tries. Amherst College will be the No. 2 seed, while Middlebury College rounds out the highest seeds as the No. 4 seed. Williams College, Bowdoin, Colby College and Wesleyan University are the No. 5 through No. 8 seeds, respectively.
Hamilton College is the host of the eight-team NESCAC Squash Championships on February 14-15 at the Little Squash Center. The quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, February 14, starting at 10 a.m. The semifinals and final will be played on Sunday, February 15, with the championship match scheduled for 4 p.m.
