NEW LONDON, CT (February 7, 2026) – Jumbos netminder
Gus Bylin was remarkable between the pipes and registered 28 saves in his first shutout of the season as Tufts University defeated Connecticut College 3-0 in conference action at Dayton Arena.
Tufts has now won two consecutive contests and improved to 7-7-0 in conference. Connecticut drops to 4-9-1 in the NESCAC and 8-11-1 overall.
The Jumbos opened the scoring 3:28 into the first period off a snipe from
Marcus Sang. After forcing a turnover on the zone entry from the Camels,
Mason Daignault hit Sang streaking up the left side of the neutral zone and Sang ripped a wrister from the top of the left circle under the glove and over the left pad of Will McEvoy.
Bylin totaled 21 stops through the first two periods of play to keep Connecticut scoreless, halting multiple odd man rushes and a breakaway opportunity from the Camels.
Tufts took a 2-0 lead just under three minutes into the final frame with a marker
Brendan Fennell.
Max Resnick won an offensive zone faceoff to the left of the Camels netminder back to
Jameson Klein, Klein put a low shot towards goal, and Fennell redirected over the shoulder of McEvoy.
Drew Pitts iced the game for the Jumbos with 1:59 remaining in regulation with an empty net tally from his own defensive zone.
McEvoy recorded 20 saves for the Camels. However, Bylin was a wall in net and posted seven stops in the third period to complete the shutout.
Connecticut led the shot department 28-23. Neither team was able to score on power play opportunities. Tufts did not have a man advantage chance and Connecticut finished 0 for 3.
Resnick and Fennell extended their point streaks to seven games, while Ullrick's comes to an end at six.
The Jumbos return to play at 7 PM on Friday at home against #2 Hamilton.
