Women's Sailing 4th at Harvard Team Race in Spring Opener

CRANSTON, RI (March 1, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team got its spring season started today at the Harvard Team Race. The regatta was moved from Harvard University to Brown University to provide for better conditions.

A round-robin was contested with each team getting eight races in. The Jumbos split their four races for a 4-4 record that placed fourth out of nine teams in action. Tufts won a three-way tie-breaker against Harvard and Roger Williams University (total points scored when tied teams met) to take fourth place.

Tufts' victories today came against Brown's second team, Harvard, MIT and the University of Rhode Island. The Jumbos had a perfect 1-2-3 score in the race versus Harvard.

The three duos in action today for the Jumbos were senior skipper Ella Hubbard with junior crew Eloise Goedkoop, first-year skipper Maddie Janzen with sophomore crew Dory Russell and sophomore skipper Sophia Hubbard with senior crew Lilah Parker.

Brown's first team won the regatta with a 7-1 record, winning a head-to-head tie-breaker against Dartmouth College which also finished with a 7-1 mark.
