Women's Sailing Leads Southern New England Team Race After One Day

NEW LONDON, CT (March 14, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team leads the Southern New England Team Race after Saturday's action.

All except two races of an opening round robin were completed today. Tufts had all seven of its starts and earned a 6-1 record. Yale with a 5-2 mark is second behind the Jumbos.

Tufts' wins today were versus Bowdoin, Brown, MIT, Northeastern, Rhode Island and Yale. The Jumbos raced to a perfect 1-2-3 score against MIT. The Jumbos' lone defeat was against Roger Williams.

Sailing for Tufts today was senior skipper Ella Hubbard with junior crew Eloise Goedkoop, first-year skipper Maddie Janzen with sophomore crew Amelia  Traver and sophomore skipper Sophia Hubbard with senior crew Lilly Ladd.

Sunday racing should feature the conclusion of the first round robin and the start of another. Racing is scheduled to begin around 10:00 AM.
