Women's Sailing Fifth After One Day at Home Duplin Team Race

MEDFORD, MA (March 21, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team is hosting the Duplin Team Race out of Bacow Sailing Pavilion on Upper Mystic Lake this weekend. The Jumbos are currently in fifth place out of 10 teams through one day.

A full round robin of the 10 teams was completed on Saturday. The Jumbos compiled a 5-4 record and won a tie-breaker against Harvard and Roger Williams (number of races won when tied teams met) to take fifth place. MIT leads the regatta with a 7-2 record following one round.

Tufts' wins on Saturday included Harvard, Roger Williams, Bowdoin, Northeastern and Fordham. The defeats were versus Yale, Brown, MIT and Rhode Island.

Starting for the Jumbos today were senior skipper Ella Hubbard with sophomore crew Dory Russell, first-year skipper Maddie Janzen with senior crew Lilly Ladd and sophomore skipper Sophia Hubbard with junior crew Eloise Goedkoop.

First race on day two of the Duplin Team Race Sunday is scheduled to start at 10 AM. Racing between the top eight teams, and then amongst the top six teams is the preferred format if conditions allow.
