MEDFORD, MA (March 24, 2026) - Four Tufts University players were announced as 2026 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team members, as selected by College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Senior
Annie Aspesi, juniors
Stella Galanes and
Annie Ryan and sophomore
Siobhan Stapleton are the Tufts recipients. To be nominated, a student-athlete must have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started at least two-thirds of the team's contests. Academically, at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) is required.
Aspesi (biopsychology major), Galanes (French literature and political science), Ryan (psychology) and Stapleton (economics) were regular contributors to a Tufts team that finished with a winning record (13-12), including a victory over #4 in the nation and undefeated (at the time) Smith College.
Galanes earns the Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team honor for the second year in a row.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 15, 2026.
