CRANSTON, RI (March 28, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team is in 11th place out of 12 teams after the first day at the Dellenbaugh Team Race Trophy hosted by Brown University on Saturday.

A round-robin among the 12 teams began and was nearly completed today. Each team had 10 or 11 races. Tufts raced 10 times and won twice against eight losses.

The Jumbo victories were against Cornell and Bowdoin. Stanford, Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, Tulane, Roger Williams, College of Charleston and MIT all defeated Tufts. The Jumbos have one more race against Harvard remaining to complete the opening round.

Stanford leads the regatta with a 9-0 record after one day.

Sailing for Tufts today was senior skipper Ella Hubbard with sophomore crew Dory Russell, first-year skipper Maddie Janzen with senior crew Lilly Ladd and sophomore skipper Sophia Hubbard with junior crew Eloise Goedkoop.

On Sunday, if conditions and time allow, the first round robin will be completed and further competition could be started. The first warning goes off at 10:00 AM.
