Women's Sailing Finishes at Dellenbaugh Trophy With Strong Sunday Results

CRANSTON, RI (March 29, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team had a good Sunday to finish up at the Dellenbaugh Team Race Trophy hosted by Brown University.

In all, Tufts won four of its six races on Sunday. The Jumbos would place 10th overall at the regatta with a 6-10 total record.

The day started with the completion of the first round robin between the 12 overall teams. The Jumbos only had to face Harvard to finish the round, and they lost that match-up.

With a 2-9 record in the first round, Tufts was placed into the Bottom 6 Silver round for continued racing on Sunday. Tufts had success there, winning against MIT, Cornell, Bowdoin and Dartmouth. The only loss was to College of Charleston. With their 4-1 record in the Silver round, Tufts compiled its 6-10 overall record.

The Jumbo teams were senior skipper Ella Hubbard with sophomore crew Dory Russell, first-year skipper Maddie Janzen with senior crew Lily Ladd and sophomore skipper Sophia Hubbard with junior crew Eloise Goedkoop.

Tufts will compete in its first fleet racing event of the spring season next weekend (Apr. 4-5) at the Emily Wick regatta hosted by Connecticut College.
