NEW LONDON, CT (April 18, 2025) – The Tufts Jumbos started at the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Women's Fleet Race Championship on Saturday, and are in seventh place out of 15 teams following one day.
Hosted by Coast Guard, the regatta saw eight races completed in A and B divisions on Saturday. Tufts is third in B division through the eight races with a 38 score. Combined with the 77 score in A division, Tufts has a 115 team total.

Lilly Ladd had five top 10 finishes in their eight races on Saturday. They won the second race and earned runner-up scores in the first and last races of the day.
For A's, Tufts sailed sophomore skipper
Sophia Hubbard with junior crew
Eloise Goedkoop. They are 10th in their group and had a best finish of fifth in the opening race on Saturday.
Brown leads the Championship with a 42-28-70 scoring line, slightly ahead of Yale (44-28-72).
Competing for the Reed Trophy, which will go to the New England champion, the first-place team as well as the runner-up this weekend will earn berths into the Intercollegiate Sailing Association National Fleet Race Championship coming up next month. The other finishers have opportunities to earn at-large berths into the national championship.
Day two of the New England Women's Fleet Race Championship on Sunday has a first warning at 10 AM.
