MEDFORD, MA (April 25, 2026) – The Tufts University women's sailing team will start at the 2026 Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's Team Race National Championship in New Orleans on Sunday.

RESULTS
Tufts will be one of 15 teams competing at the fifth annual ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship. The event runs Sunday and Monday (Apr. 26-27), with Tulane University hosting the Championship on Lake Pontchartrain. Racing will begin at 10 AM each day.
If time and conditions allow, the Championship format will start with a round robin of all 15 teams. Next, a round robin of the top six teams from the first stage will be contested. Finally, a round robin of the top four teams from Stage 2 will determine the champion.
The probable starting lineup for the Jumbos will have senior
Ella Hubbard skippering with sophomore
Kate Castleberry as crew, sophomore skipper
Sophia Hubbard racing with junior crew
Eloise Goedkoop and first-year skipper
Maddie Janzen on board with senior crew
Lilly Ladd. Sophomores
Kiana Beachy, Amelia Traver and
Dory Russell will be on hand as alternates.
Castleberry, uniquely, is starting at the Women's Team Race Nationals after starting for the Jumbos at the Open Team Race Nationals, where Tufts finished up on Friday in 12th place. She competed with the Tufts coed team at the Open Team Race Nationals in 2025 as well.
Sophia Hubbard, Ladd and Traver were members of the Jumbo squad that competed at the Women's Team Race Nationals for the first time last year.
The ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship began in 2022. In their first time qualifying last year, Tufts finished in 11th place.
