MEDFORD, MA (May 12, 2025) - Four Tufts University players were announced as 2026 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Team members, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the court.
Seniors
Andrej Djokic,
Javier Gonzalez and
Sacha Maes, as well as sophomore
Kaetan Mehta are the Tufts recipients. Gonzalez is receiving the honor for the second straight year.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be in the lineup for 75-percent of the total matches played by the team that includes a team score. Academically, he must carry a grade point average of 3.50 or better (on a 4.0 scale).
Djokic (computer science major), Gonzalez (computer science), Maes (community health and international relations) and Mehta (economics) are starters for head coach
Karl Gregor's Tufts team that won the New England Small College Athletic Conference championship this spring and has advanced to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.The Jumbos are ranked #3 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III poll.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 3.
