MIDDLEBURY, VT (September 25, 2026) -- The Tufts University men's tennis team opened action at the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) New England Regional Friday, and the Jumbos had a strong day with many of the players staying alive in the main singles and doubles' draw at Middlebury College.

In singles, four of the five Jumbos in the main singles' draw moved into the Round of 16 as No. 2 seed Garv Bahl won a pair of straight set victories. He knocked off Dominik Dwyer of UMass Boston 6-0, 6-0 and then bested Alessio Dambrosi of Colby Sawyer 6-0, 6-4. Bahl will take on Middlebury's Arjun Reiland Saturday.

In the Round of 32, Mastrogamvrakis defeated seeded Sebastian Mendoza of Babson 7-6 (2), 7-5. Mastrogamvrakis will not take on teammate Matej Djokic in the Round of 16, after the Jumbo sophomore won 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round over Chase Burke of Wesleyan. He then bested No. 7 seed Lukas Frangenberg of Amherst, 6-4, 6-1.

On the top of the bracket, Kaetan Mehta was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Aden Dorros of Bowdoin, winning in straight sets over Diego Sosa of Colby 6-3, 6-3 to move into the Round of 16. Mehta will take on No. 8 seed Noah Lewis in the next round Saturday.

Eren Chueng was the only Jumbo to not make the main draw Round of 17, as he fell to Maxim Zlobinsky 7-6 (8), 7-6 (4) in the second round.

In the "B" singles' draw, Tufts has the top two seeds and both moved into the Round of 16 as sophomore and top-seed Jackson Rich won his only match of the day over Nicky Hermes of Wesleyan, 8-2. No. 2 seed Nico Tremblay also had a bye in the first round, and then knocked off Austin Prendiville of Springfield 8-4.

First-year Pratt Yerger also moved into the Round of 16 in the "B" bracket, as he knocked off Alexey Oshchepkov 8-0 in the first match of the day. He then bested No. 4 seed Alex Brzov of Amherst 8-4.

In the doubles' draw, Tufts saw three of its four pairs make the Round of 16 as Bahl and first-year Lucca Zamani won their lone match of the day over a Williams' pair 8-3 to stay alive. Yerger and Djokic also moved into the Round of 16 with a pair of wins, knocking off Alex Molda and Santiago Diaz of Gordon 8-3. They then defeated a seeded duo from Babson 8-6.

Tremblay and Mastrogamvrakis, the tournament's No. 2 seed, won emphatically 8-1 over Filippo Nocchi and Connor Leung of Emerson to continue on in the tournament.
