2019 (Junior): Shanks appeared in 19 games and helped the Jumbos finish the year with a 19-2 overall record, a NESCAC Championship, and an NCAA Quarterfinal appearance...earned second team All-NESCAC, second team NEILA All-New England, and USILA third team All-American honors...netted 27 goals and dished out 15 assists, which was good for 42 points...scored a season-high four goals and dished out two assists in the Jumbos 19-15 win over Cortland State...the junior midfielder also netted hat-tricks in games against Williams, Bates, and Middlebury...recorded two or more points in 14 games on the season and reached that mark in each of his final 13 games played...netted two goals and had an assist in the Jumbos 17-16 overtime win over Williams in the NESCAC Title game.
2018 (Sophomore): USILA first team All-American...the only New England middie on All-America first team...One of two NESCAC players on the All-American first team...one of the most explosive and athletic midfielders in the country...transitioned from a D-middie last year and scored 38 goals with 12 assists for 50 points...NEILA All-New England first team pick and a NESCAC All-Conference second teamer...played his best in the biggest games...scored four goals against Ithaca and four more versus Wesleyan in the NCAA Tournament.
2017 (Freshman): Shanks played in 15 games in his freshman year..scored six goals and had 10 assists totaling 16 points..picked up 25 groundballs and caused two turnovers..scored two goals in the 22-9 win versus Trinity on March 25th.
Before Tufts: Was on the lacrosse, football and track teams at St. Margaret's Episcopal School...was a four-time varisty starter in lacrosse...was a three-time varsity starter in football...was named an Adrenaline All-American...selected as a US Lacrosse All-American...was a two-time lacrosse and one-time football CIF champion...was named the Academy League Player of the Year in 2015-16 for football...was an CIF/All-State selection for football in 2015-16.
