WILLIAMSTOWN -- Day one of the NESCAC Golf Fall Qualifier at
Waubeeka Golf Links was suspended due to darkness on Saturday. The
first two waves were able to complete the first round, however the
final wave consisting of Trinity, Tufts, Wesleyan and Williams was
unable to complete its round. Play will resume on Sunday, Oct. 4 at
Waubeeka at 9:30 a.m. on the 17th hole.
Originally scheduled to have an 11:00 am start on Saturday, play
was delayed due to rain and wet course conditions for an hour and
10 minutes. The first wave consisting of Amherst, Bowdoin and
Hamilton did not begin competition until 12:10 pm, while the final
group reached the first tee box at 2:30 pm.
After completion of the first round on Sunday morning, teams
will be re-paired for an 11:00 am start. The three teams with the
highest cumulative score from day one will be paired together,
followed at 11:40 am by the next three teams with the highest
cumulative score. At 12:20 pm, the remaining four teams from day
one will tee off. The four teams with the lowest two-day score will
earn the right to compete for the 2010 NESCAC Golf Championship on
April 24-25, 2010, at the site of the lowest finisher from this
weekend's action.
Results from Saturday will be posted once available.
