Hamilton Pool. Coach Adam Hoyt's men are right back at in on Sunday
when they travel to Division I Boston College for their annual
meeting with the Eagles.
The Jumbos won three events against a strong MIT squad.
Two came in the diving events, which were held at MIT. Jumbo divers
Trevor Stack (Northbrook, IL) and senior
quad-captain Rob Matera (Trumbull, CT) waged an
excellent competition off the one-meter board. The junior Stack
upset his All-American teammate by a 286.42 to 286.13 score. Matera
later left no doubt about the winner of the three-meter event with
a strong 306.83 score. Stack took second at 276.
Senior quad-captain Lawrence Chan (Fresh Meadows,
NY) continued his excellent season with a victory and two
seconds. He was fastest in the 200 individual medley with 2:01.14
finish. He had previously posted runner-up efforts in the 100
breaststroke (1:00.16) and in 200 breaststroke (2:15.52). Seniors
Patrick Kinsella (Hinsdale, IL) was 0.67 seconds
out of first place in the 100 butterfly event.
Matera, Chan, and Kinsella were three of 11 Tufts competitors
who were saluted on Seniors' Day at Hamilton Pool. Tufts now has a
