CAMBRIDGE -- Sixth-ranked Stanford defeated the Tufts women's
squash team 9-0 on Sunday afternoon at Harvard University.
Tufts sophomore Alix Michael (Mercer Island,
WA) scored 22 points in her loss to Kerrie Sample in the
#2 match. Stanford's Sample is the 24th ranked player in the
nation. Sophomore Mercedes Barba (New York, NY)
was also competitive for the Jumbos in the third match, losing 11-7
in the final game and totaling 15 points. Junior Val Koo
(Hong Kong, China) played Stanford's Pamela Chua, the 17th
ranked player in the nation. Chua won 11-3, 11-2, 11-5.
The Jumbos, ranked 25th by the College Squash Association, now
have a 1-10 record. They play at #28 Northeastern on Tuesday
night.
